Opportunities for Students
Are You Ready to Make a Difference in Our Community?

Children and families in our community need your help! Join the fight against poverty by giving, advocating or volunteering today!
OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED
There is nothing more powerful or rewarding than giving your time! There are opportunities that fit any schedule and anyone willing to help!
Bag Childhood Hunger
Would you give up your lunch for a hungry child? Bag Childhood Hunger is an opportunity to do just that!
The concept is simple: skip or pack a lunch, then donate the money you would have spent eating out to help fight childhood hunger and food insecurity through Inland Empire United Way’s Kids Pack program, which feeds 1,700 local children each weekend. This is a great way for your school, business, church, sports or community group to help us feed more kids this year!
Host a School Supply Drive or ieReads Book Drive
It’s easy and impactful. Help local children from low-income neighborhoods by collecting new school supplies or books (list made available) to help ensure these students are successful in school. Everyone can participate and know they are making a difference. Don’t want to shop and collect items? Virtual drives are also available.
AmeriCorps, often called the “domestic Peace Corps,” is a National Service opportunity and part of a country-wide movement of over 1 million AmeriCorps members leading change in their local communities. Coming from a range of backgrounds, AmeriCorps members with IEUW commit to serve full-time for at least 1,700 hours and 11-months, receive a living stipend and extensive professional development, and build local capacity and volunteer infrastructure at nonprofits and public schools in the Inland Empire.
