For more than 6 years the United Way has been seeking out and cataloguing free and low cost health and human services that are available to the residents of San Bernardino County. The 211 Blue Book Directory begins where the yellow pages end, with more than 700 pages of detailed information on 985 agencies offering almost 5000 resources, including health care, counseling, employment and family services, senior services, volunteer opportunities and much more. There is no better, more comprehensive or up-to-date guide to free and low cost health and human services in San Bernardino County.
This information is always available by phone with live professionally trained staff, 24 hours per day, using the 3-digit 2-1-1 toll free phone number, and online at 211sb.org. But we continually receive requests for a printed version of this comprehensive information bank, the last version of which was printed in 2009. We have added more than 180 agencies since then. Some use the Directory as a handy desk reference, especially City, County, and non-profit front line staff and case workers. Others operate in the field where it is inconvenient to carry a laptop or use a phone to find specific resources at the spur of the moment. So in response to these requests, the 3rd printing of the 211 Blue Book Directory is now available.
