The Evening of Gratitude Event held this past week was simply moving and heartwarming. It was such an honor to recognize the dedication and commitment of those that generously support the Inland Empire United Way. To see all of the staunchly supportive partners spotlighted and recognized for their commitment and generosity to IEUW and underserved families within the I.E., was simply awe-inspiring. A special thanks again to Sean and Lisa Bailey for hosting us and for making us feel tremendously welcome in their beautiful home. It is because of the support from individuals like the Bailey’s that allow us to better serve our community and to combine our resources to maximize our level of support and readiness. Also, much appreciation to the Inland Empire United Way Board of Directors and Executive Advisory Council Members in attendance who continuously and enthusiastically show up to represent the organization at every turn and who fiercely serve as dedicated ambassadors for the work that we do. I would also be remiss if I didn’t thank my wonderful staff who consistently model every EPIC characteristic of IEUW (Excellence, Partnership, Integrity and Compassion). I am immensely proud to serve as your CEO and feel privileged to have the opportunity to interact a group of the most amazing and giving group of employees. You are appreciated.
There is no greater purpose than to be of service to others, particularly those less fortunate than us and those that are most in need of our help. I was immensely proud, along with my staff to support these organizations who everyday go above and beyond the call to ensure that every man, woman and child has the best chance possible to experience the collective power of organizations whom are actively creating both new and endless possibilities for the I.E.
For the last 26 years, IEUW has been a leading and trusted nonprofit in the region thanks to our devoted donors and other like-minded individuals committed to creating sustainable change in our communities. I look forward to working with this amazing collective of community based organizations collaboratively and succinctly in the days, weeks, months and years ahead to combat childhood hunger, shifting families out of poverty and empowering communities to be in the driver’s seat of the endless possibilities for their own lives and promising futures.
It should not go without mention that this year, we will also celebrate our 15th Anniversary of our Kids pack program; providing nutritious food to our young people so that they can go to school ready to learn and excel. Each month, IEUW provides food to nearly 2,000 children in the Inland Empire experiencing food inequities. No child should ever go hungry and because of the tremendous support levied our way, IEUW is helping to ensure that they don’t have to; at least not on our watch!
Going forward, we have lots of work to do in the region, but collectively it can be done. I look forward to working in tandem with each and every one committed in helping drive about positive outcomes for the Inland Empire.
Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication in bettering the lives of Inland Empire residents.
